Learn the wheel, then keep going. Perfect for absolute beginners or anyone coming back to clay. Six weeks on the wheel making bowls, cups, and plates, with a small group and a friendly teacher right there with you. Clay, tools, glazes, firing, and student open studio included.
Never touched clay? You can start here — this course is built for complete beginners. If you would rather try one evening first, take a one-night class and come back for the six weeks when you are ready.
What happens each week
We’ll walk you through step by step, the process of wheel throwing, from proper body positioning to centering clay and making your first cups.
- Week 1 — Centering.
- Week 2 — Opening and pulling.
- Week 3 — Cups and bowls.
- Week 4 — Trimming.
- Week 5 — Throwing taller.
- Week 6 — Glazing.
The teacher will work to meet each student at their own pace and guide them to the next stage in their pottery journey.
You can pick up your final pieces within one week of completing the class. We can’t wait to see what you create.
