Classes and Membership
Our Intro to Wheel Throwing course runs for six weeks and is built for people with zero experience. Classes are capped at a small group of students, so everyone gets hands-on attention from the instructor as you learn to center, shape, trim, and glaze. When you are ready for more, Advanced Beginner Wheel deepens your technique and expands what you can create. Every class also includes student open studio during your course, Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays 10 AM to 6 PM.
And for the most flexibility, our studio membership comes with your own keycode to the studio, at $140 per month, it is an easy addition to your routine. We also host private events for groups of any size, and they make outstanding team-building outings, client entertainment, or celebrations.
Getting Here from Downtown
Drive: about 10 minutes. Larimer St runs northeast from Larimer Square straight into RiNo. Turn left on 34th or 35th St and Walnut St is the next block. Brighton Blvd is another direct route from the north end of downtown. Claya is at 3440 Walnut St, Denver, CO 80205.
Parking: street parking near 38th and Blake. Coming straight from the office for a 6 PM class, give yourself 15 minutes to drive and park.
Train: from Union Station, take the A Line one stop to 38th & Blake (about 4 minutes), then walk a few blocks southwest to Walnut St. It is the easiest way to skip parking after work.
Local tip: if you work near Union Station, the A Line often beats driving at rush hour, and the walk from 38th & Blake passes some of RiNo's best murals.
At a glance: six-week classes are $325, taught in small groups. Try the Pottery Wheel is one night for $60. Membership is $140 per month with a 2-month minimum. Studio hours are Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday by appointment.
Before and After Class
RiNo is stacked with restaurants and taprooms that make it easy to turn your pottery class into a full evening.
