Studio Membership details — shelves, firing, glazes, signup, and agreement
Claya is a pottery studio in Denver’s RiNo district. This page covers the practical details of Studio Membership. For the overview and signup, see the membership page.
How do I join?
Pay your first month online whenever you’re ready. Then come in for your first session the same day, during the next shop hours, or whenever works — just email us and we’ll pick a time. When you get here we’ll walk through the member agreement, get you a shelf, set up your keycode, and show you around. Once you’re signed and keyed, the studio is yours day or night. Or email us and let us know what time works best for you.
Shop hours (agreement & keycode): Come in during shop hours or by appointment any day — Monday, Thursday, Friday 10:00 AM–6:00 PM; Saturday 10:00 AM–4:00 PM; Sunday or any day by appointment. Or email us for a good time.

What’s required?
We require at least one beginner class (or equivalent experience) before membership, so you’re comfortable working independently.
Shelf size
Each member receives one designated shelf — approximately 48" long × 18" wide × 12" tall (at least 6 cubic feet) for work in progress and tools.
Glaze firing
Bisque firing is free with membership. Glaze firing: your first 250 cubic inches each month are free, then $0.05 per cubic inch. Your monthly allowance resets on the 1st and does not carry over.
Glazes
Members have access to at least 21 dipping glazes plus a ROYGBIV palette of underglazes.
Top Shelf add-on
Top Shelf — No Height Limit is $15/month, capped at 20 members. Built for taller work — vases, urns, and larger sculptural pieces. Learn more →
Clay bodies
Claya fires primarily in electric kilns to Cone 5/6. Rocky Mountain Clay BMX Cone 6 — 25 lb ($21) and other studio clay bodies are available at member rates. Outside clay bodies or glazes must be approved in advance for kiln compatibility.
Membership rates
Extended Founding is $140/month , billed monthly, with a 2-month minimum.
Billing & cancellation
Monthly memberships renew automatically on the same calendar day each month until you cancel.
2-month minimum: billing continues through the end of month 2 even if you cancel earlier.
To cancel: visit clayastudios.com/pages/cancel-membership. No notice period required. Studio access continues through the end of your current billing period.
After cancelling: please clear your personal shelf within 7 days of access ending. Anything left after that will be packed up and held in studio storage for 7 days.
Memberships are cancelled, not refunded. We don’t prorate or refund partial months. See our Refund Policy.
