Claya is a modern pottery studio in Denver's RiNo Arts District designed for beginners, hobbyists, and experienced ceramic artists alike. Built for makers who want reliable access to quality equipment.

A calm space to work with clay. A place to make pottery.

We offer wheel throwing classes, workshops, and studio memberships with keycode access, supporting everyone from first-time students to independent makers producing finished ceramic work. Members also get First Friday each month from 4 to 9 PM. One guest is free, and instructors host mini workshops.

    Pottery Studio Membership

    Your own keycode to our Denver studio & pottery community. The space and time to refine or begin your craft. Founding membership is $140 per month for the first 50 members, then $175. Still available. Sign up in studio.

Handbuilt face mugs with sculpted features made in a Claya workshop

One night, Friday September 25

Face Mug Workshop

Build a mug from scratch, then give it a face. In one three-hour evening you will slab-build a mug, sculpt on the features you want, and finish it with underglaze color. Taught by Denver potter Kate Barry. No experience needed, and clay, tools, underglaze, and firing are all included. $50, twelve seats.

Start your pottery journey

Beginner Pottery Wheel Classes

Join a 6-week Intro to Wheel Throwing class to meet fellow potters and learn a new art form. Class meets for 2 to 3 hours each week for 6 consecutive weeks at our pottery studio in RiNo, Denver.

Guided by an experienced potter, you'll learn the skills needed to throw cups and bowls, the building blocks of a lifelong practice.

Open Studio hours for students

Open Pottery Studio

While enrolled in any pottery class at Claya, you get open studio time: a three-hour session, twice a week during your course, on set days at monitored times. Time to experiment with new forms and meet other students.

Weeknight sessions

Evening Wheel Classes

Learn the wheel after work. Six-week evening sessions on Tuesday and Wednesday at 6:00 PM, plus Thursday at 6:00 PM with Sami. Centering, pulling walls, trimming, and glazing, with no experience needed. Clay, tools, glazes, and firing all included.
