Cancellation policy
Studio Memberships at Claya are billed on a recurring monthly basis. Your billing date is the same calendar day each month as your initial signup, not every 30 days. Example: if you sign up on June 15, your renewal date is the 15th of each following month, regardless of how many days are in that month. By starting a membership, you authorize Claya to charge your payment method on that date each month at the rate listed at signup, until you cancel.
Two-month minimum
Memberships have a two-month minimum commitment. You can submit a cancellation at any time, but the earliest your membership can end is after the second monthly billing. Example: if you sign up on June 15, your first chance to end the membership is after your August 15 billing, with access through September 14.
How to cancel
Visit clayastudios.com/pages/cancel-membership, enter the email on your account, and click cancel. No notice period or phone call required. You'll receive an email confirmation. (You can also email info@clayastudios.com if you'd rather have us cancel it for you.)
When cancellation takes effect
Cancellations are effective at the end of your current billing cycle, on your next renewal date. You'll keep full studio access until then. We do not prorate or refund partial months.
Failed payments
If your renewal payment fails, we'll email you a link to update your card. Your access continues for 5 days while you resolve it. If the card isn't updated within those 5 days, the membership cancels automatically. To restart, you'll re-enroll at the then-current Standard Rate, and the Founding Rate is lost, the same as any other cancellation.
Founding Rate
Members who join at the Founding Rate ($140/month, first 50 members) keep that locked rate for 12 months of continuous, good-standing membership. At the start of month 13, the membership rate automatically transitions to the then-current Standard Rate ($175/month). If you cancel before month 13 and later return, you'll rejoin at the then-current Standard Rate. The Founding Rate is not restored after cancellation.
No pause option
Memberships cannot be paused. If you need time away, cancel and rejoin later at the rate available at that time.
Changes to rates
The Standard Rate ($175/month) may change with at least 60 days' written notice to active members. The Founding Rate, once locked, will not change during your 12-month lock period.
Prepaid plans
Standard members can prepay 12 months ($1,860) for a discount. Prepaid plans are one-time purchases, not subscriptions; they don't auto-renew. Access ends at the end of your prepaid term. You can re-purchase at the then-current rate. Prepaid plans are non-refundable for unused months once the term has begun. The 2-month minimum above does not apply to prepaid plans.
Shelf clearing
After cancellation, please clear your personal shelf within 7 days. Anything left after that will be packed up and held in studio storage for 30 days. We'll reach out before donating anything to a community studio, so you have a chance to come grab it.
