What you’ll do

This is Learning 101 — calm coaching, not a rush. In one night we cover:

  • Centering — getting the clay steady under your hands
  • Opening — creating the inside of the form
  • Pulling walls — lifting height with control
  • A simple form — a cup, bowl, or cylinder you can call finished
  • Finishing — tidy the rim, wire off, and set your piece on the path to glaze

What’s included

  • Clay and tools for the night
  • Guidance from Claya staff and teachers
  • Glaze + pickup path about ~2 weeks later
  • About two hours on the wheel (typically 6:00–8:00 PM)
  • Small-group energy so you get real help, not a lecture from across the room

Why people love these nights

  • Beginner reassurance. Nobody expects you to know the wheel yet — that is the point.
  • Date night or solo. Book two seats or come on your own. Both feel normal here.
  • RiNo studio. Make something real at 3440 Walnut Street, then walk the neighborhood after.

No experience needed. Try the Pottery Wheel nights are built for first-timers. Our teachers walk you through centering, opening, pulling walls, and a simple form — one fun evening at a time.

What should I wear?

Comfortable clothes you do not mind getting clay on. Closed-toe shoes help. We provide aprons, clay, and tools.
