Pottery Classes near Park Hill, Denver

Park Hill is one of Denver's most established and diverse neighborhoods -- a place where towering elm trees shade wide sidewalks, families walk to neighborhood schools, and the local businesses along 23rd Avenue reflect the community's character. It has the feeling of a small town inside a big city, with a strong sense of identity that goes back generations. Claya is about 10 minutes west in RiNo, bringing a creative studio experience within easy reach of your neighborhood.

Why Park Hill Residents Love Claya

Park Hill residents value community, authenticity, and experiences that bring people together. Pottery at Claya offers all of that -- you learn alongside other students, share studio space, and build something tangible with your hands. The drive west on 33rd Avenue or Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard takes about 10 minutes and drops you right into the RiNo Art District, where our studio is ready for you.

Classes and Membership

Our Intro to Wheel Throwing course is six weeks of guided instruction that turns complete beginners into capable potters -- you will center, throw, trim, and glaze your own work. Wheel Throwing II is designed for those who have completed the intro and want to expand their range with new techniques and forms. For ongoing access, our 24/7 membership at a founding rate of $140 per month means you can come in any time -- mornings, evenings, weekends, whenever your schedule opens up. Every class is limited to 12 students, and private events can host 8 to 24 guests.

Getting Here from Park Hill

Head west on 33rd Avenue -- it is a direct, low-traffic route that takes you through the neighborhood and into RiNo in about 10 minutes. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard is another good option, running parallel and connecting to the same area. The studio is at 3440 Walnut Street between 34th and 35th. Street parking is available near the studio.

Before and After Class

Park Hill Books on 23rd Avenue is one of the last great independent bookstores in Denver -- a perfect place to browse before heading to the studio. Olive and Finch, also on the east side, serves thoughtful breakfast and lunch with house-baked pastries that make a great pre-class fuel stop. And if you want to stretch your legs before or after pottery, City Park is right on your route west -- the lake, the museum, and the wide-open green space offer a beautiful transition between Park Hill and your time at the wheel.
