Classes and Membership

Our Intro to Wheel Throwing course runs six weeks and is designed so that complete beginners walk out with real, finished pottery they made from scratch. Advanced Beginner Wheel picks up where that leaves off, introducing new forms and pushing your skills further. Every class also includes student open studio during your course, Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays 10 AM to 6 PM.

And if you catch the bug and want to come in regularly, our studio membership is $140 per month and gives you your own keycode to the full studio.

Getting Here from Baker

Take Broadway north through downtown. When you hit the 30s, jog east toward Walnut Street -- the studio is at 3440 Walnut between 34th and 35th. If you prefer, Speer Boulevard is another clean route that curves northeast and drops you into RiNo from the west side. Either way, about 12 minutes door to door. Street parking is available near 38th and Blake, and the 38th & Blake A Line station is a short walk away.

At a glance: six-week classes are $325, taught in small groups. Try the Pottery Wheel is one night for $60. Membership is $140 per month with a 2-month minimum. Studio hours are Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10 AM to 6 PM, and Sunday by appointment.

On your way to the studio, stop by Mutiny Information Cafe on South Broadway -- a coffee shop, bookstore, and community hub that perfectly captures Baker's independent streak. After class, the Horseshoe Lounge is a relaxed neighborhood bar with pool tables and zero pretension, ideal for unwinding. And if you are in a browsing mood, the Broadway Book Mall has a labyrinth of used books across multiple dealer stalls that you could get lost in for an hour.
