Pottery Classes in Highlands Denver | Claya
Pottery Classes near Highlands, Denver
The Highlands is one of Denver's most vibrant neighborhoods -- a place where independent boutiques line 32nd Avenue, weekend brunch crowds spill onto sun-drenched patios, and the creative energy is palpable from LoHi all the way up to the Highlands Square. If you already spend your weekends browsing shops on Tennyson or grabbing coffee along Platte Street, adding a pottery practice to your routine is a natural next step. Claya is just a quick trip east, tucked into the heart of RiNo on Walnut Street.
Why Highlands Residents Love Claya
Living in the Highlands means you already value good design, craft, and community -- which is exactly what Claya is built around. The drive is about 10 minutes east on 38th Avenue, straight into RiNo, with no highway needed. You get the full creative experience of a 6,000-square-foot pottery studio without leaving your part of town behind -- the neighborhood energy carries right over.
Classes and Membership
Most Highlands folks start with our six-week Intro to Wheel Throwing course, which takes you from your first centered lump of clay to trimmed, glazed, finished pieces. From there, Wheel Throwing II deepens your skills with new forms and surface techniques. If you want the freedom to come in on your own schedule, our Open Studio sessions and 24/7 memberships at a founding rate of $140 per month give you round-the-clock access to wheels, tools, and kilns.
Getting Here from Highlands
Head east on 38th Avenue -- it is a straight shot from the Highlands into RiNo. When you cross over the interstate, you are basically there. Turn right on Walnut Street and look for us between 34th and 35th. Street parking is available near the studio.
Before and After Class
Since you are already in RiNo, make the most of it. Ratio Beerworks is a short walk away and a perfect post-class wind-down spot with approachable craft beers and a laid-back patio. Denver Central Market, just down the street, has everything from wood-fired pizza to fresh oysters if you want to grab dinner after your session. And if you have not wandered The Source Hotel yet, its ground-floor market hall has cocktails, tacos, and artisan shops worth exploring before heading back to the Highlands.
