Pottery Classes near Golden Triangle, Denver
The Golden Triangle is Denver's most concentrated art neighborhood -- home to the Denver Art Museum, the Clyfford Still Museum, and dozens of galleries lining the streets south of the Capitol. If you live here, you already spend time surrounded by art. Claya gives you the chance to stop looking at it and start making it, with a fully equipped pottery studio in RiNo that is about 10 minutes north.
Why Golden Triangle Residents Love Claya
You chose the Golden Triangle because art matters to you -- not just as something to hang on a wall, but as a way of engaging with the world. Pottery is one of the most tactile and immediate art forms there is, and Claya brings that experience to a professional studio setting with wheels, kilns, and instructors who genuinely care about your progress. The drive north on Broadway or Speer Boulevard takes about 10 minutes, bridging two of Denver's strongest creative districts.
Classes and Membership
Our Intro to Wheel Throwing is a six-week course that takes you from raw clay to finished, glazed pottery -- no prior experience needed. Wheel Throwing II builds on those foundations for students who want to explore more advanced forms and surface techniques. Getting Here from Golden Triangle
Broadway north is the most direct route -- take it through downtown, continue past Coors Field, and turn right on Walnut Street. Speer Boulevard is another option, curving northeast and connecting to the RiNo area from the west. Both routes take about 10 minutes depending on traffic. The studio is at 3440 Walnut between 34th and 35th, Street parking is available near the studio.
Before and After Class
Before heading to Claya, spend some time at the Clyfford Still Museum if you have not been recently -- it is one of the most powerful single-artist museums in the country and a reliable source of creative inspiration. Meow Wolf Denver in the Sun Valley area is not far from your route north and worth a visit if you are in an adventurous mood. And Civic Center Park, right at the heart of the Golden Triangle, is a beautiful place to sit with a coffee and reflect on whatever you just pulled off the wheel.
