Pottery Classes in Sunnyside Denver | Claya
Pottery Classes near Sunnyside, Denver
Sunnyside is one of those Denver neighborhoods that feels like a well-kept secret. Nestled between the Highlands and the interstate, it has the quiet residential charm of a place where people actually know their neighbors, mixed with the slow creep of great restaurants and coffee spots that have started to fill in along its edges. If you have been looking for a creative practice that matches Sunnyside's grounded, unpretentious character, Claya is just a few minutes away in RiNo.
Why Sunnyside Residents Love Claya
Sunnyside residents value substance -- you chose the neighborhood because it is real, not because it is trendy. Claya operates the same way: serious studio space, proper equipment, skilled instructors, and a focus on building genuine ability. The drive southeast takes about eight minutes via Tejon Street or Federal Boulevard, and you arrive at a 6,000-square-foot pottery studio where the emphasis is on the work, not the scene.
Classes and Membership
Our Intro to Wheel Throwing course covers six weeks of focused instruction -- you will learn to center, pull, trim, and glaze, finishing the course with pieces you made entirely yourself. Wheel Throwing II goes deeper for students who want to push their craft. Open Studio sessions give you independent practice time, and our 24/7 membership at $140 per month means you can work in the studio any time that fits your life. Classes are capped at 12, and private events can host 8 to 24 guests.

Before and After Class
Chubby Cattle, just across Federal on the edge of Sunnyside, is a hot pot and barbecue restaurant that has become a neighborhood destination -- great for a pre-class meal with friends. Allegro Coffee Roasters on Tejon is a calm, well-crafted spot for a coffee on your way to the studio. And Prost Brewing on 33rd, right between Sunnyside and RiNo, serves authentic German-style beers in a cheerful biergarten that is perfect for a post-pottery pint.
