Pottery Classes in RiNo Denver | Claya
Pottery Classes in RiNo, Denver
You already live in one of Denver's most creative neighborhoods. RiNo -- the River North Art District -- is where warehouse walls become massive murals, where galleries open their doors every First Friday, and where the line between art and everyday life barely exists. Claya sits right in the middle of it all, at 3440 Walnut Street between 34th and 35th, a 6,000-square-foot pottery studio built for this neighborhood's maker spirit.
Why RiNo Residents Love Claya
When you live in RiNo, you do not need a reason to try something creative -- you just need a place. Claya is walkable or bikeable from almost anywhere in the neighborhood, and many of our regulars literally stroll over from their apartments on Brighton, Blake, or Larimer. There is no commute, no planning -- just grab your apron and go. The studio feels like a natural extension of the neighborhood itself.
Classes and Membership
Our six-week Intro to Wheel Throwing course is designed for total beginners and gives you a solid foundation in centering, pulling, trimming, and glazing. Once you have the basics, Wheel Throwing II lets you push into new forms and techniques with more creative freedom. For those who want to build a real studio practice, our 24/7 membership at a founding rate of $140 per month means you can throw at midnight after a First Friday gallery crawl or early on a quiet Tuesday morning. We keep class sizes to 12 students so you always get real attention, and we host private events for groups of 8 to 24.
Getting Here from Anywhere in RiNo
If you are already in RiNo, you might not even need directions. We are on Walnut Street between 34th and 35th -- walkable from the Walnut Street corridor, the Brighton Boulevard stretch, and the Larimer Street restaurants. If you are biking, the neighborhood is flat and friendly. If you drive, street parking is available near the studio.
Before and After Class
Bierstadt Lagerhaus is just around the corner and brews some of the best German-style lagers in Denver -- their slow-pour pilsner is worth the wait after a throwing session. Finn's Manor, a few blocks away on Larimer, has a great patio and a cocktail bar tucked inside a converted gas station. And of course, you can always wander past the Crush Walls murals that line the alleys and side streets -- the outdoor art in this neighborhood changes with every season.
