Why RiNo Is Denver's Best Neighborhood for Art
Denver has art everywhere, but RiNo — the River North Arts District — is where it all comes together. Here's what makes this neighborhood special and why it felt like the right home for Claya.
Creative Energy Everywhere You Look
Within a few blocks of our studio on Walnut Street, there are dozens of galleries, murals on every surface, working artist studios, and creative businesses. RiNo wasn't a neighborhood that added art as an afterthought — it grew from artists who moved into old warehouses and industrial spaces and turned them into something alive.
The buildings here have concrete floors, high ceilings, exposed brick, and beautiful natural light — exactly the kind of space a pottery studio thrives in.
A Real Community
What sets RiNo apart is that it's not just a collection of businesses — it's a genuine creative community. The RiNo Art District organizes First Friday art walks, the CRUSH WALLS mural festival, and regular events that bring people together. Galleries, breweries, restaurants, and studios all support each other.
People come to RiNo to explore, try something new, and spend time making things. A pottery class fits perfectly into that spirit.
Easy to Get To
RiNo sits between I-70, I-25, and downtown Denver. It's 7 minutes from LoDo, 10 minutes from Highlands, and accessible from almost anywhere in the metro area. And unlike some Denver neighborhoods, parking here is easy — Claya has a free private lot with 12+ spaces right at the studio.

Why We're Here
We looked at spaces all over Denver. RiNo was the clear choice — the right kind of building, the right energy, and the right community for what we're building. Our studio at 3440 Walnut Street is 6,000 square feet purpose-built for clay work, and we couldn't be happier to call this neighborhood home.
