In one creepy-fun evening, you'll handbuild your very own face mug from a slab of clay. Here's what's brewing:
Build your mug: roll out clay and shape your mug from scratch, with our team there to help every step of the way.
Sculpt a face: creepy, goofy, full-on monster, or somewhere in between. Add bulging eyes, fangs, warts, stitches, or a big silly grin. It's your creature.
Add a handle: attach a handle so your new friend is ready for cocoa, coffee, or a witch's brew.
Color it in: paint on underglaze in any colors you like. Ghoulish green, pumpkin orange, midnight black, or all of the above.
Taught by Kate Barry, a Denver potter and Claya member who teaches face mugs regularly.
Then Claya handles the rest. We bisque-fire your mug, brush on a clear glossy topcoat, and give it a final glaze firing so it comes out shiny and ready to use.
About one week after class, we'll email you when your mug is ready to pick up, just in time for Halloween.
$75 per person. All clay, tools, underglazes, glazing, and firings are included. 12 spots. No experience needed.
