What Does a Pottery Class in Denver Include?

At Claya in RiNo, a pottery class includes everything you need to make real pieces: clay, tools, an apron, glazes, all the firing, and, for multi-week classes, student open studio so you can practice between sessions (clay during open studio is available for purchase on the shelf near the aprons). You just bring yourself.

Here’s the full picture, class by class.

Six-week classes: $300–$325, everything included

Our six-week Intro to Wheel Throwing evening sections are $325, including Mary’s Monday class. Here’s what comes with it:

  • Clay for class. No bags to buy for your class sessions.
  • Tools and an apron. Ready at your wheel.
  • The glaze library. Week six is all about color.
  • All firing. Bisque and glaze, handled by the studio.
  • Student open studio. Come practice during the posted open studio times while your course runs. Clay for open studio practice is available for purchase at the studio.
  • A small group and a real teacher who knows your name by week two.

Finished pieces are ready for pickup within about a week of your last class.

One-night workshops

The Hand Built Face Mugs workshop is $60 for one night (no date is on the calendar right now; see one-night workshops for what is next). You build a mug, sculpt a face on it, and glaze it yourself, then Claya fires it. Clay, tools, glazes, and firing are all included. Pieces are ready to pick up about a week later.

Our Try the Pottery Wheel night is another easy first step: clay and tools included, no experience needed.
