Handbuild a Pumpkin Night (and Make It a Jack-o’-Lantern!)

Carve out a spooky-good night at Claya! 🎃 This class is perfect for everyone from absolute beginners to experienced handbuilders, no clay experience needed.

Pick one night; each session is a complete 2.5-hour class.

In one hands-on evening, you'll build your own ceramic jack-o'-lantern luminary from a lump of clay. Here's what's in the cauldron:

• Form your pumpkin: press clay into our custom 3D-printed molds to get that perfect pumpkin shape, then add a stem and make it yours.
• Design and carve: give it a goofy grin, a spooky scowl, or something totally your own. Carve out eyes, teeth, and cut-outs that will glow once the lights go down.
• Dry it fast: we break out the heat guns to firm up your pumpkin so you can keep going.
• Color it in: paint on underglaze in whatever colors you like. Orange is classic, but green, purple, black, speckles, and stripes are all fair game.

Then Claya handles the rest. We bisque-fire your lantern, brush on a clear glossy topcoat, and give it a final glaze firing so it comes out shiny and ready to glow.

About one week after class, we'll email you when your lantern is ready to pick up, just in time to light it up for spooky season.

$65 per person. All clay, tools, underglazes, glazing, and firings are included. 13 spots per session.
