Build a mug from scratch, then give it a face. In one evening you will slab-build a mug start to finish, sculpt on the features you want (eyes, lips, ears, brows, whatever your mug's personality calls for), and finish it with underglaze color.

Taught by Kate Barry, a Denver potter and Claya member who teaches this project regularly. No experience needed, and everything is included: clay, templates, tools, underglazes, and all firing. Work quickly and you may leave with a set.

Friday, September 25, 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Twelve seats.

  • Three hours, one night, no prior experience needed
  • All clay, tools, underglaze, and firing included
  • Pieces are bisque fired, clear glazed, and ready for pickup about two weeks later
  • 3440 Walnut Street, Denver (RiNo)
