Build a mug from scratch, then give it a face. In one evening you will slab-build a mug start to finish, sculpt on the features you want (eyes, lips, ears, brows, whatever your mug's personality calls for), and finish it with underglaze color.
Taught by Kate Barry, a Denver potter and Claya member who teaches this project regularly. No experience needed, and everything is included: clay, templates, tools, underglazes, and all firing. Work quickly and you may leave with a set.
Friday, September 25, 6:00 to 9:00 PM. Twelve seats.
Three hours, one night, no prior experience needed
All clay, tools, underglaze, and firing included
Pieces are bisque fired, clear glazed, and ready for pickup about two weeks later
