Construction Update: Big Milestones at Claya

We are absolutely buzzing over here at Claya in Denver's RiNo Art District. February has been packed with major construction milestones, and we can't wait to share every detail with our community as we get closer to opening day.

Inspections Passed: Insulation & Sheetrock

This past week, we officially passed our insulation and sheetrock inspections for our second ADA-compliant bathroom — a huge win for our team and a key step toward final occupancy. Building an accessible, welcoming space for every person who walks through our doors has been a core priority from day one, and clearing this milestone means we're right on track.

Shop Sinks Going In This Week

One of the most exciting practical upgrades arriving this week: our shop sinks are going in. If you've ever taken a pottery class, you know how essential a good sink is — clay and water go hand in hand, and dedicated wash stations mean a cleaner, more functional workspace for every student, member, and artist who calls Claya home.

Our Storefront Got a Glow-Up

If you've cruised past our building in RiNo lately, you've probably done a double-take: our exterior painting is complete, and the building looks incredible. A huge thank-you to Sooner or Later Sign Co. for the outstanding work — the crisp white exterior and the bold, hand-crafted Claya script lettering have already been stopping people in their tracks.

What's Coming Next

With sinks going in and key inspections behind us, the studio is taking shape fast. Over the coming weeks we'll be pushing toward completion on flooring, lighting, and final fit-out of our wheel throwing area and paint-your-own-pottery stations. We're also finalizing our membership program and class schedule — announcements are coming soon.

We're grateful every single day for the support of our community, our neighbors in RiNo, and everyone cheering us on through this build. This studio is being made for you, and we cannot wait to throw open those doors and get our hands in the clay together.
