Construction Update: Getting Claya Ready to Welcome You

We’re putting the finishing touches on Claya, and while it’s taken a little longer than we first hoped, we’re so excited about what’s taking shape. Converting an older industrial building into a warm, welcoming, public-facing ceramics studio is a big project—and we want to do it the right way.

Right now, our team is focused on important upgrades that will make the studio safe, accessible, and comfortable for everyone:

• ADA-compliant bathrooms so all guests can use the space comfortably
• Proper egress doors and emergency exits to meet Denver safety requirements
• Life-safety and code updates throughout the building
• Improved accessibility and movement across the studio floor

These behind-the-scenes improvements are essential for creating a long-lasting home for pottery classes in Denver CO, workshops, memberships, and community events. They may take time, but they are part of building a studio that feels thoughtful, inclusive, and truly ready for our students.

We’re working as cooperative partners with the City of Denver to make sure every step—from inspections to accessibility modifications—is handled with care. Our goal isn’t just to open quickly, but to open beautifully and responsibly.

Due to this additional work, our opening timeline shifted. At the time of this update we were aiming to welcome our first students later in 2026. We appreciate your patience more than you know, and your enthusiasm keeps us motivated every day.

We looked forward to offering a full schedule of pottery classes Denver, pottery classes Denver Colorado, wheel-throwing courses, and community workshops in a serene and beautifully designed space. Whether you're brand new to clay or returning to your craft, we’re creating a studio where you can slow down, learn, and express yourself.
