Construction Update: Getting Claya Ready to Welcome You in Early 2026

We’re putting the finishing touches on Claya, and while it’s taken a little longer than we first hoped, we’re so excited about what’s taking shape. Converting an older industrial building into a warm, welcoming, public-facing ceramics studio is a big project—and we want to do it the right way.

Right now, our team is focused on important upgrades that will make the studio safe, accessible, and comfortable for everyone:

• ADA-compliant bathrooms so all guests can use the space comfortably
• Proper egress doors and emergency exits to meet Denver safety requirements
• Life-safety and code updates throughout the building
• Improved accessibility and movement across the studio floor

These behind-the-scenes improvements are essential for creating a long-lasting home for pottery classes in Denver CO, workshops, memberships, and community events. They may take time, but they are part of building a studio that feels thoughtful, inclusive, and truly ready for our students.

We’re working as cooperative partners with the City of Denver to make sure every step—from inspections to accessibility modifications—is handled with care. Our goal isn’t just to open quickly, but to open beautifully and responsibly.

Due to this additional work, our opening timeline has shifted slightly. We now anticipate welcoming our first members and students in January or February 2026. We appreciate your patience more than you know, and your enthusiasm keeps us motivated every day.
